Cheerleaders at Firestone cheer at Varsity and Junior Varsity Football and Basketball games, as well as support ALL other sports, organize pep rallies, and sponsor Spirit Week the week of Homecoming each fall. Cheerleading is, therefore, a big commitment of time and effort. As visible representatives of the building, tryout scores are weighted evenly between cheerleading skills and character as seen by Firestone's faculty. Firestone Cheerleading tryouts are held each spring for the new Firestone Cheerleading squads for the next school year. Only current Firestone students that attend for the full school day are eligible to tryout. Student must have CLEAN discipline records. No transfer students or incoming freshmen are eligible until they have attended Firestone a full year. |
