The 2019 Dazzle Awards were held Saturday evening in the Connor Palace Theatre at Playhouse Square in Cleveland.
Congratulations to the five Firestone students who participated in Saturday's Dazzle Awards. While Firestone did not bring home any trophies this year, we garnered three nominations and one student selected as a technical apprentice.
Two other students participated in the opening and closing numbers of the show and each was given an individual moment to shine as part of the show.
Senior Serrin Scrutchings and junior Morgan Bedilion were nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Junior Ethan Korvne was selected as the very first technical apprentice for the program. We were also nominated for Best Costume Design.
Thirty schools participated in this year's program and 22 of them received at least one nomination. Our three nominations and 1 special selection kept us in the spotlight -- only seven schools had more.
The Firestone Akron School for the Arts have so far eared seven Dazzle Awards in the four years of the program and look forward to even more next year!
The 2020 Dazzle Awards will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020.
