FHS Sweeps City Track

The Firestone Falcons completed a season sweep of the track titles this past Saturday at Ellet.

Firestone won both the regular season titles and took the City Championship meet for boys and girls.

Coach Tim Carroll accepted the regular season plaques from girls record holder Zenobia Johnson. Ms. Johnson is the current record holder for girls long jump and high jump. She set the records in 1980 while competing for the South High Cavaliers.

Congratulations to coaches of the year for the boys William Graham (Buchtel) and Laddie Fair (North). Orlando Green from Buchtel was voted the girls Coach of the year.

Special thanks to the East JROTC members who assisted with field events and hurdles.

Becky Hixon from the Ellet Orangegrove did another outstanding job on the lunch boxes provided to our officials and workers....thank you Becky!
